    List of Ingredients

    2-3 pears cubed
    2 tsp butter
    2 T. balsamic vinegar
    1/2 cup walnuts or pecans
    4 oz gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
    Romaine lettuce or mixed greens to serve 6 people


    Melt butter over medium heat in a nonstick pan. When butter is melted and foaming add the diced pears and saute until golden brown stirring frequently. When the pears are carmelized, add the balsamic vinegar and bring to a slight boil. When slightly thickened, remove the pan from the heat and set aside. Toast the nuts in a small nonstick pan over medium heat or in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Tear the washed and dried romaine and put on serving platter. pur the pears and their liquid on top of the lettuce. Sprinkle the gorgonzola cheese on top of the pears and top with the nuts. Serve immediately. The cheese will melt somewhat on top of the warm pears.
