3/4 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup pineapple preserves
2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cream butter and sugar till light. Beat in egg and preserves. Sift together dry ingredients; add, mixing thoroughly.
Drop from teaspoon, 2 inches apart, on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Cool 1 or 2 minutes; remove from pan.
Top with preserves and a walnut half just before serving. Makes 42.
