Growing up we all loved to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house and more often than not this cake would be on the table. Grandma made it for every celebration. Maggie





List of Ingredients



• 1/4 C. butter
  
• 1 C. sugar
  
• 2 large eggs
  
• 1 C. mashed banana, very ripe
  
• 1 1/2 C. flour
  
• 1 tsp. baking powder
  
• 1 tsp. baking soda
  
• 1 tsp. pure vanilla
  
• strawberry jam
  
• vanilla frosting
  






Instructions



1. Cream butter with sugar until smooth, add vanilla and mix well. Add eggs, beat till creamy, add banana and mix well. Sift dry ingredients and fold into wet mixture. Bake at 375 degrees F. in 2 well buttered 8" pans for 25-35 minutes. Cool and ice with vanilla frosting with jam between the cake layers.
