    Ginger Chicken

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup light soya sauce
    • 1/4 cup dry sherry or apple juice
    • 1 tbs. minced ginger (I prefer in a jar)
    • 1 clove of garlic, minced (I prefer 1 tsp. in a jar)
    • 1/4 tsp. of salt and pepper
    • 1 chicken breast or 4 chicken legs skinned
    • 1 tbs. sugar
    • 2 tbs. finely chopped green onions (shallots)


    1. In a shallow dish mix soya sauce, ginger, garlic, salt and pepper

    2. Add chicken, turning to coat evenly, cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours

    3. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes

    4. Strain marinade and disgard garlic and ginger

    5. Place chicken meat side down on a lightly greased grill over medium high heat

    6. Cook chicken turning often for 15 minutes

    7. Stir sugar into reserved marinade and brush over chicken, cook brushing often with marinade for about 15 minutes or until chicken is browned

    8. Sprinkle green onions (shallots) over chicken and serve
