Devil's Food: Black Velvet Cake

1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 package devil�s food cake mix (18 1/2 ounce)
1 3 1/2 ounce instant chocolate pudding mix
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
1 1/2 cups slivered almonds Recipe
Preheat oven to 350�F.� Spray a 10-inch tube pan with non-stick vegetable spray.� Sprinkle almonds on bottom of pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, water, oil, extracts, and cinnamon; beat for 4 minutes.� Fold in chocolate morsels and almonds.� Pour into prepared tube pan.
Bake 60 to 70 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean.� Cool in pan for 15 minutes.� Remove from pans; cool completely on a wire rack.� Serve topped with whipped cream, if desired.
