Jack Daniel's-Raisin Sauce

List of Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- � cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey
- � cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1� Tbsp cornstarch
- � tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- ⅛ tsp salt
- � cup seedless raisins
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1� Tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine the water, whiskey, brown sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and salt in a small saucepan, whisking until smooth.
- Add the raisins and butter and bring to a boil over moderately high heat. Reduce the heat so the liquid bubbles gently, then cook and stir for about 1 minute or until the mixture thickens.
- Whisk in the lemon juice and serve warm over vanilla ice cream or with bread pudding.
Makes about 2 cups.
