    Ben Franklin's Spiced Brandy Punch!

    Source of Recipe

Bon Appetite magazine - Nov 2001 issue

    Recipe Introduction

When our Founding Fathers raised their cups for a Thanksgiving toast, they didn't drink Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. So why should you? Rather, enjoy Benjamin Franklin's Spiced Brandy Punch

    List of Ingredients

Supplemental Thanksgiving: Ben Franklin's Spiced Brandy Punch!

Benjamin Franklin's Spiced Brandy Punch (four to six servings):

    1 cup whipping cream
    1 cup water
    1/2 cup brandy
1/3 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
    1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
    1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Whisk all ingredients except ice in medium bowl. Fill four to six glasses with ice. Ladle punch over and serve. Enjoy the authentic drink of yesteryear!
