    List of Ingredients




    Cake:

    1 cup of butter
    1 cup of Dr Pepper
    2 cups of flour
    1/2 teaspoon of salt
    2 cups of sugar
    4 tablespoons of cocoa
    1-1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup of buttermilk
    2 teaspoons of vanilla
    1 teaspoon of soda

    Frosting:

    1/4 cup of butter
    1/4 cup of Dr Pepper
    3 tablespoons cocoa
    2 1/2 to 3 cups of powdered sugar
    1 teaspoon of vanilla
    1/2 cup of chopped nuts

    The Cake

    Heat, but do not boil, the 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of Dr Pepper until the butter melts.

    Sift together the 2 cups of flour, 1/2 tablespoon of salt, 2 cups of sugar, 4 tablespoons of cocoa, and 1-1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon together to form the dry mixture.

    Beat the 2 eggs and then combine and blend them with the 1/2 cup of buttermilk, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and 1 teaspoon of soda to make the egg mixture.

    Add the hot Dr Pepper mixture to the dry mixture and blend well. Mix in the egg mixture and then pour into a sheet cake pan 15 1/2" x 10 1/2x1". Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Begin work on the frosting around 5 minutes before the cake is done.


    The Frosting

    Heat, but do not boil, the 1/4 cup of butter, 1/4 cup of Dr Pepper, and 3 tablespoons of cocoa. Blend in 2 1/2 to 3 cups of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir in 1/2 cup of chopped nuts.

    Spread the frosting evenly over the cake immediately when it has been removed from oven.
