    Six Week Pickles

    List of Ingredients

    Wash cucumbers (leave whole)

    Pack glass jars full of cucumbers
    Add per quart: 1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon pickling spice
    1/2 teaspoon alum
    1 cup vinegar
    Fill jars with water
    Cover - use Saran Wrap to make lid airtight

    Wait 6 weeks.......Then:

    Rinse off cucumbers
    Slice or dice
    Put back in clean jars
    Add 2 cups of sugar per quart
    Pickles are ready when sugar is absorbed
