    Christmas Cranberry Bread

    List of Ingredients

    5 cups all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 cups sugar
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 1/4 teaspoons salt
    4 large eggs
    1 1/2 cups milk
    10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    4 teaspoons grated orange zest, or to taste
    1 package fresh cranberries (12 ounces) about 31/2 cups
    2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts or other nuts

    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a separate bowl, blend eggs, milk, butter and orange zest until frothy and golden yellow. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture and stir gently. Batter may be a bit lumpy. Gently add cranberries and walnuts.

    Bake in two 9-inch loaf or decorative style pans at 350 degrees for about 55 minutes. Cool in pan.
