    Recipe Introduction

    Prep/Total Time: 10 min. (prepare this while soup is simmering)

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 c. butter, softened*
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. lemon-pepper seasoning (didn't use)
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder*
    1/4 tsp. dried basil*
    1/4 tsp. dried oregano*
    12 slices French bread (1 inch thick)
    2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Italian-blend cheese

    *= Instead of using these, I used Italian Rose Garlic Spread and just softened it a bit and spread on the sliced bread. Then I sprinkled just a tiny bit of garlic salt on top of the butter, added the cheese and broiled in the oven)


    In a small bowl, combine the butter, lemon-pepper, garlic powder, basil and oregano. Spread over one side of each slice of bread.

    Place butter side up on an ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil 4 inches from the heat for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted and edges are golden brown. Yield: 6 servings
