This is delicious, but please be extremely careful when working with anything that has hot sugar… if you splatter or spill it on your bare skin it burns quickly and is difficult to remove. If you should have such an accident, immediately place the area under cold running water to cool the sugar. DO not try to wipe it off first.
List of Ingredients
Caramel Topping Mix (See below for additional uses)
½ c. melted butter
½ c. honey
¼ c. dark Karo
¼ c. light Karo
1 lb. brown sugar
1 loaf frozen white bread dough
1 stick butter, melted
cinnamon sugar mix
1-Combine topping ingredients (this may be done while bread dough is thawing)
2-Thaw bread dough.
3-Spread bundt cake pan with caramel topping.
4-Cut bread into walnut sized pieces.
5-Dip dough pieces first into the butter, then into the cinnamon sugar mixture and drop into the prepared bundt cake pan
6-Allow to rise until double. Bake at 375° until done
7- Allow to cool slightly before carefully inverting onto the serving plate, allowing the caramel mixture to flow over the cake.
Additional uses for Caramel Topping:
-Caramel Rolls-spread in baking pan before adding cinnamon rolls.
-For Pecan Rolls, spread pan with Caramel Topping then sprinkle generously with broken pecans.
