    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    3 1/2 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    5 tablespoons skim milk
    3/4 cup sugar
    3/4 cup Splenda
    1 egg
    1/4 cup Egg Beaters� 99% egg substitute

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350�. Combine shortening, applesauce, salt, and vanilla. Add sugar and blend; add eggs. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with glass covered with dampened cloth. Sprinkle with sugar.

    Bake at 350� for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Approximately 48 cookies
