    Cinnamon French Toast Bake

    Source of Recipe

    Pillsbury Easter Treats booklet

    Recipe Introduction

I made this for Fathers Day 2013 and it was a great success. Great flavor and texture. It doesnt turn out as damp and custardy as some baked French toast recipes.

    List of Ingredients

    FRENCH TOAST:
    1/4 c. butter, melted
2 cans (12.4 oz each) Pillsbury refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
    6 eggs
    1/2 c. heavy whipping cream
    2 t. ground cinnamon
    2 t. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. maple syrup

    GARNISH:
    Icing from cinnamon rolls
    Powdered sugar
1/2 C. maple syrup, if desired

    Recipe

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Pour the melted butter into an ungreased 13x9-inch baking dish. Using both cans of dough, cut each separate roll into 8 pieces. Set aside icing you will use this later. Place the dough pieces in the baking dish evenly.

Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the cream, cinnamon and vanilla and blend well. Pour over the dough pieces and sprinkle with the pecans. Pour the 1 cup of syrup all over the dough. Bake for 20-28 minutes, until golden. Cool for 15 minutes. Microwave the icing cups on 50% power for 15 seconds and drizzle over the top of the French Toast Bake and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with additional warm maple syrup.

    Serves 12.
