    WORTH WAITING FOR ROAST

    Recipe Introduction

THIS "RECIPE" TOOK QUITE A FEW YEARS TO PERFECT, HOWEVER, NO ONE AT THIS POINT HAS EVER COMPLAINED!! JUST REMEMBER, FOR THE BEST RESULTS USE THE MOST INEXPENSIVE "CHUCK ROAST" AND CUT THE VEGATABLES LARGE FOR THOSE VEGGIE HATERS!!!

    List of Ingredients

    • 1(5-POUND) BONELESS CHUCK ROAST
    • 2 TABLESPOONS OLIVE OIL
    • 2 CAN S (101/2 OZ) BEEF CONSOMME
    • 2 CUPS WATER
    • 2 TABLESPOONS CHOPPED GARLIC
    • 1 TABLESPOON GARLIC POWDER (DON'T USE GARLIC SALT)
    • 4 BAY LEAVES
    • 3 TABLESPOONS LIQUID SMOKE
    • SALT/PEPPER TO YOUR TASTE *(DON'T USE- DON'T MISS!!)
    • 8 LARGE STOCKS CELERY
    • 2 LARGE YELLOW ONIONS
    • 8 LARGE "DAD'S" NEW POTATOES

    Instructions

    1. BROWN ROAST ON ALL SIDES IN OLIVE OIL ALONG WITH THE CHOPPED GARLIC. WITH PAPER TOWELS, REMOVE ALL GREASE, (after all, we are using a "cheaper" CUT OF BEEF!!)

    2. TRANSFER TO A LARGE STOVE TOP POT, (I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL, GOOD OLE REVEREWARE, ETC WORKS FOR ME!)

    3. SIMMER (YES, I MEAN SIMMER,- IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR MEAT'S TENDERNESS) FOR 2 HOURS.

    4. ADD DAD'S NEW POTAOES AND SIMMER FOR 1 MORE HOUR.

    Final Comments

THIS TAKES ABOUT 30 MIN TO PREPARE (DEPENDING ON HOW LONG IT TAKES YOU TO "SLICE AN DICE") AND THEN, 3 MORE HOURS TO COOK, HOWEVER YOU CAN DO OTHER THINGS WHILE IT IS SIMMERING. SERVE OVER VERMICELLI(DIFFERENT,BUT GREAT!!)OR RICE.
