    This came from 1948 Lady's Home Journal.

    List of Ingredients

    1 can ( 28 oz) diced tomatoes undrained
    1 cup chopped onions
    1 cup chopped celery
    3/4 cup chopped green pepper
    2/3 cup uncooked long grain rice
    1/3 cup vegetable oil
    1 bay leave
    1-2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper


    In a 2 qt baking dish, combine all ingredients; mix well. cover and
    bake at 350 for 1 t1 1/4 hours or until rice is tender, stirring
    constantly, discard bay leave before serving.
