    Chinese Upside Down Casserole

    1 lb. ground beef
    1 med. onion, chopped
    3/4 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. water chestnuts
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 to 3 tbsp. dried onion soup
    1 can chow mein noodles
    1 can mushroom soup


    Brown meat in skillet.
    Add onion, celery, and water chestnuts.
    Stir and cook over low heat until vegetables are tender. Avoid overcooking. Add onion soup and pepper and stir.
    Add mushroom soup and mix well.

    Remove from heat and pour into casserole dish.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Top with noodles and serve with
    soy sauce.
