    BETTY CROCKER ALL-TIME FAVORITES, 1972

    List of Ingredients





    1/2 cup warm water
    2 packages yeast
    1 teaspoon sugar
    3/4 cup milk -- scalded
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup shortening -- softened
    2 eggs -- slightly beaten
    4 1/2 cups flour

    Recipe



    Mix in 2 cup measuring cup, water yeast and 1 tsp. sugar. Stir and set aside. In large bowl mix sugar, salt and shortening. Stir in hot milk. Stir to melt shortening. Stir in eggs and yeast mixture. Gradually add flour to make a soft dough. Add more flour if necessary.. Place in greased bowl to raise. Mix down and let raise again. Shape and place on greased pans. Let raise again. Bake at 350�F. for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Yield: 3 dozen
