    Von's Homemade White Bread

    List of Ingredients

    2 packages dry yeast
    1 cup milk
    1 cup water
    2 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons shortening
    2 teaspoons salt
    6 cups bread flour

    Combijne yeast, sugar, salt and 5 cups flour. Heat liquid ingredients to correct temperature for type of yeast using. Add to dry ingredients. Mix until soft dough forms. Knead until smooth, adding enough to flour to make smooth, satiny dough. Let rise 1 1/2 hours, if using regular yeast.. Shape into loaves and place into oaf pans. Let rise until double. Bake at 425 degrees F for about 45 minutes. Place on racks and let cool.
