Sauce In a Stick

1/2 cup butter -- or margarine
1 1/4 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons water
Microwave margarine on high in an uncovered microwave safe bowl until butter is softened, about 30 seconds in dry milk, flour, salt and pepper. Stir in water until mixture is moistened and can be formed into a ball.
Shape dough into an 8-inch roll on plastic wrap. Make 8 indentations about 1-inch apart. Divide dough into eighths. Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator.
Sauce: Microwave 1/2 cup water uncovered in a 2 cup glass measure until boiling. Crumble sauce mix and stir into water while stirring with fork until smooth.
Microwave on high, uncovered, 45 to 60 seconds or until mixture boils again.
Makes 1/2 cup sauce.
Cheese Sauce: Add cheese when add sauce ingredients to boiling water. Microwave until mixture boils again.
