    Favorite Belgian Waffles

    Recipe Introduction

    Light, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside...yummy waffles!

    List of Ingredients

    2 pckg active dry yeast**
    4 cups warm milk
    8 eggs -- separated
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    5 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 cup melted butter


    Sprinkle yeast over warm milk; stir to dissolve. Beat egg yolks and add to yeast mixture with vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and add to liquid. Stir in melted butter and combine. Beat egg whites til stiff. Carefully fold into batter. Let rise 30 minutes in a warmed oven - (150` or so). Bake in preheated waffle oven.

    **If you use instant yeast, warm the milk but add the yeast with the flour. Use 4 tsp. with this doubled recipe. My favorite yeast is SAF perfect rise which I get in the 1.25 lb. package from
