List of Ingredients
1 14 oz bag Kraft caramels, papers taken off
1 6 oz. Chocolate chips -- (1 cup)
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
1 5 oz can evaporated milk
Melt caramels with 1/3 c. evaporated milk - 3 min. on high. Stir together.
Mix cake mix, 1/2 c. softened butter, 1/3 c. evaporated milk. Pat 1/2 mixture in bottom of greased pan (11x7 or 9x13). Bake 6 min. at 350.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and 1 cup nuts over cake layer. Spread caramel mixture over chips and nuts. "Drop" pieces of cake mixture over that and press into caramel. (I kind of pat the dough in my hands to flatten and shape. The holes get filled in). Sprinkle with nuts. Bake 20 min. @350 F. Let cool and cut into squares. These are rich...a little goes a long ways.
