    I'm trying to use less canned soups and make more of the sauces from scratch. This is a basic white sauce - I've used it for chicken pot pie and Shepherds Pie - just changing the broth - chicken or beef. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed!

    List of Ingredients

    6 tbsp. butter
    6 tbsp. flour
    2 cups milk
    1 cup broth
    opt. ingredients:
    sliced mushrooms, onions, celery, green pepper


    Melt butter and stir in flour until smooth. Add the milk and broth and heat over medium heat until smooth and thick.
