    Source of Recipe

    Ole Timers

    Recipe Introduction

The only question I have is it calls for 3 cents worth of rock candy in 1915 how much would that be in now?

    List of Ingredients

    2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 cup sugar (white or brown)
    1 quart water
    1/2 cup olive oil
3 cents worth of rock candy (or horehound candy)
    additional water as needed
    whiskey (if desired)

    Recipe

Take 2 large onions and slice thinly
add 1 cup sugar ( your choice white or brown)
add 1 quart water and bring to a boil
add 3 cents worth of rock candy or horehound candy
mix well and continue to boil
then add enough water to make it thin enough to strain.
    add whiskey if desired

Give 1/2 tsp as often as needed for cough.
