    Sauted apples in sweet spices make this muffin special. WW Points

    Yield:12 muffins

    2 T. low-calorie margarine
    1 c. diced apple,unpeeled
    2 T. brown sugar
    2 t. cinnamon
    1/2 t. nutmeg
    1&1/2 c. unbleached white flour
    1 c. whole-wheat flour
    2 t. baking powder
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
    2 T. canola oil
    1 T. sugar
    1/4 c. evaporated skim milk

    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the margarine. Add the apple and saute for 5 minutes. Add the sugar ,cinnamon, and nutmeg and saute for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

    Combine the flours and baking powder in a medium bowl. Combine the eggs, applesauce, oil, sugar, and milk in a large bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the large bowl and mix until blended. Add the apple mixture and stir lightly to mix.

    Pour the batter into 12 nonstick muffin cups. Bake at 350� for 25-30 min. Remove muffins from oven and let cool slightly. Remove muffins from pan and let cool completely.
