    Barbequed Beef Brisket

    List of Ingredients

    • 7 to 8 lb. beef brisket
    • 4 T. liquid smoke
    • onion powder
    • garlic powder
    • SAUCE:
    • 1-1/2 T. brown sugar
    • 7 oz. catsup
    • 1/4 c. water
    • 1 T. liquid smoke
    • 2 T. worcestershire sauce
    • 1-1/2 t. dry mustard
    • 1 t. celery seed
    • 3 T. butter
    • dash of salt and pepper


    1. Rub liquid smoke on the outside of brisket. Wrap in foil and refrigerate overnight.
    2. The next morning rub the brisket with onion powder and garlic powder and rewrap in foil. Bake in 300 degree oven at least 5-1/2 hours. Let cool and pour off fat. Slice when cooled.
    3. Pour sauce over sliced meat. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
    4. SAUCE:
      Mix all ingredients together in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil then turn heat down and simmer for about 30 minutes.
