    Chocolate Nut Bread

    List of Ingredients

    • 2-1/4 c. flour
    • 1 t. baking soda
    • 1 t. salt
    • 1 c. butter, softened
    • 2 c. sugar
    • 5 eggs
    • 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
    • 1 c. buttermilk
    • 2 t. vanilla
    • 1 c. chopped nuts


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Mix flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
    3. Cream butter, beat in sugar. Add eggs, beating well. Blend in chocolate.
    4. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk. Mix in vanilla and nuts.
    5. Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees about 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
