    Caramel Apple Cake

    List of Ingredients

    • 3 - 4 Granny Smith apples
    • 3 T. sugar
    • 1 t. cinnamon
    • 2 c. sugar
    • 1 c. oil
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/4 c. orange juice
    • 2 t. vanilla
    • 3 c. flour
    • 1 T. baking powder
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
    • 16 caramels


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    2. Peel and slice apples. Mix with 3 T. sugar and cinnamon, set aside. Cut each caramel in eight pieces.

    3. Mix together 2 cups sugar and oil until smooth. Add eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and nuts, mix well.

    4. Pour half of the batter in a greased and floured bundt or tube pan. Top with half of the apples and caramels. Repeat.

    5. Bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes.

    6. ICING:1/3 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar2-1/2 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. milk1/2 t. vanilladash of salt

    7. Melt butter and brown sugar. Add powdered sugar alternately with milk. Add vanilla and salt. Beat. Spread on cooled cake.
