    List of Ingredients

    • 2-1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    • 1 c. butter OR margarine
    • 1 c. light corn syrup
    • 1/8 t. salt
    • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 t. vanilla
    • 1-1/2 lbs. pecan halves
    • 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1 c. milk chocolate chips
    • 2 T. shortening


    1. In a large saucepan, combine the first 4 ingredients. Cook over medium heat until all sugar is dissolved. Gradually add milk and mix well. Continue cooking until candy thermometer reads 248 (firm-ball stage). Remove from heat; stir in vanilla until blended. Fold in the pecans. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Chill until firm.
    2. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler. Drizzle over each cluster. Cool.
