    German Chocolate Pecan Pie

    List of Ingredients

    1 (9-inch) deep dish pie shell
    3 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 cup packed light brown sugar
    1/2 cup light corn syrup
    1/2 cup dark corn syrup
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 cup chopped pecans
    1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1-3/4 cup sweetened flaked coconut


    Preheat oven to 350. Bake pastry shell about 8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

    For filling, in a bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, light corn syrup, dark corn syrup, butter, vanilla, and salt; mix well. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle chocolate chips over bottom of pastry shell. Sprinkle coconut over chocolate chips. Spoon filling over coconut layer, spreading evenly.

    Bake about 1 hour or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cover and chill within 2 hours. If desired, top with whipped cream.
