    • 1.75 Liters Smirnoff Triple Distilled Vodka No. 21
    • 15 Madagascar Vanilla Beans


    1. Slice vanilla beans length-wise just to open them. Scrap 7 vanilla beans. Place scrapings and all vanilla beans in the bottle of vodka. Close bottle tight and put in a dark spot in the cabinet and forget about it for 3 to 4 months. Occasionally shaking the bottle.
    2. Pour vanilla in little bottles with a tight fitting cap. Place a small piece of vanilla bean in the little bottle too and leave it there. You just keep refilling your little bottle leaving the small piece of vanilla bean in it.

    Final Comments

    You can substitute rum for the vodka if desired. Donít by hard shriveled up beans. Vanilla beans should be pliable and straight, a little curve to them is okay.
