Recipe Introduction
This recipe can be converted to a holiday cookie -- at Christmastime, add a peppermint kiss and dip bottom in chocolate after cookie is baked, or roll in red and green crystals!
List of Ingredients
4 tbsp softened butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp red sugar crystals
24 chocolate kissesRecipe
Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until well blended.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to sugar mixture in medium bowl until well blended.
Shape dough into 1 inch rounds. Roll in sugar crystals to coat outside.
Place on ungreased large cookie sheets and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Remove from oven and place cookie sheet on cooling rack and press chocolate kiss into the center of the baked cookie.
Remove from cookie sheet and cool completely on cooling rack.
