    Quick: Walnut Raisin Bread

    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup raisins
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 cup milk
    4 tablespoons butter, melted

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 375�F.

    In a bowl, beat eggs, gradually adding sugar. Add milk and melted butter.

    On a sheet of wax paper, combine flour, salt and baking powder until well mixed. Add flour mixture to the egg mixture, and beat only until combined (30-45 seconds). Stir in walnuts and raisins.

    Bake in a buttered loaf pan (10x5x4) for 45 minutes. Allow to cool ten minutes before removing from pan. Rub top of loaf with a pat of butter and sprinkle lightly with coarse sugar, if desired.

    Cool before slicing.
