2 pounds (90%) lean ground beef
1/4 cup grated or minced onion
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
4 ounces Monterey Jalapeno Jack cheese,* cut into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) slices
4 hamburger buns
Prepare grill with medium-hot coals or preheat broiler.
Combine beef, onion, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.
Shape mixture into eight thin patties. Place cheese slice
in center of four patties; cover with remaining four patties
and seal edges. Grill or broil burgers about 8 minutes per side
for medium or to desired doneness. Serve on buns with choice of
*Note: 4 ounces of Pepper Jack cheese can be substituted
for nonspicy recipe.
