    List of Ingredients

    1 pound ground beef
    1 small onion chopped
    8 ounces of your favorite taco sauce
    cup water
    1 can (4 ounce) Ortega diced green chilies
    1 package Ortega seasoning mix
    1 package (12 count) Ortega yellow or white corn taco shells, broken & divided
    2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
    Garnish suggestions: chopped tomatoes, sliced green onions, sour cream


    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Grease 11 x 7 inch baking dish.

    Brown hamburger and onions until beef is brown; drain.

    Stir in taco sauce, water, chilies and seasoning mix; bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat to low, cook, stirring occasionally for 3 4 minutes.

    Layer half of broken shells on bottom of baking dish.

    Cover with half of meat mixture; sprinkle with one cup of cheese.

    Repeat with remaining ingredients.

    Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.

    Garnish as desired.
