    Beef in Red Wine Mushroom Sauce

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 1/4lb. sirloin, sliced into thin strips
    • 3T. butter
    • 3T. safflower oil
    • 4 oz. sliced mushrooms
    • 3T. finely diced carrots
    • 3T. finely diced celery
    • 1/4c. flour, all purpose
    • 1/2c. red wine
    • 2c. beef broth
    • 3T. tomato paste
    • 1t. each pepper, garlic powder, onion powder


    1. In a large Dutch oven or kettle, saute the beef in the butter and oil.
    2. Add the vegetables and continue to cook until tender. Sprinkle with flour, reduce the heat and cook for 5 mins.
    3. Add the wine, broth, tomato paste and seasonings. Simmer for 50 mins. covered.
    4. Serve over noodles.
    5. Serves:6
