    2 1/2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    2 tbsp honey
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    2 tbsp butter or margarine
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 cup pecans

    Preheat oven to 400 . Combine apples, sugar and spices. Put in
    pie shell. Bake for 15 minutes. In a medium saucepan, mix honey,
    brown sugar and butter; bring to a boil. Add egg and nuts. Remove
    pie from oven and pour the honey mixture over the top. Return the
    pie to the oven for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325 , and bake
    for 25 to 30 minutes longer, or until pie is set and apples are
    soft. Serve warm.
