    THIS IS A RECIPE FROM 1961


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 EGG WHITES
    • 1/4t SALT
    • 1C. BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
    • 1/4C. CHOPPED NUTS


    Instructions


    1. BEAT EGG WHITES WITH SALT TO A STIFF FOAM. GRADUALLY ADD BROWN SUGAR AND CONTINUE BEATING UNTIL BLENDED.
    2. IF TURNING THE ROTARY BEATER BECOMES TOO DIFFICULT, REST OF SUGAR MAY BE MIXED IN WITH A SPOON.
    3. FOLD NUTS INTO THE FROSTING. SPREAD OVER CAKE BATTER IN THE PAN JUST BEFORE PLACING IN OVEN.
    4. IF PREFERRED, NUTS MAY BE SPRINKLED ON TOP OF FROSTING AFTER SPREADING ON CAKE.
    5. BAKE FOR TIME AND TEMP. REQUIRED FOR CAKE RECIPE USED.
    6. ENOUGH FOR TWO 8 INCH LAYERS OR ONE LAYER 7X11 INCHES.
