    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2c. white sugar
    • 1/3c. hot water
    • 1/2c. cream
    • 2c. white sugar
    • 1t. vanilla


    1. Melt 1/2c. white sugar in hot skillet until it begins to smoke. Add hot water, remaining sugar and cream.
    2. When sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil, turn heat lower. Cook slowly until at soft ball stage when tested in cold water.
    3. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. Add vanilla. Cream together and spread on cake.
    4. If it hardens before you can spread it, add 1T. cream and warm to soften; spread on cake.
