Mexican Cinnamon-Lime Horchatas

1 Cup sliced almonds
2 Cup boiling water
1 large cinnamon stick, broken into pieces
grated zest from one lime
1/2 Cup granulated sugar
2 Cups crushed ice cubes Recipe
In a blender combine all ingredients except ice. Let sit for 15 minutes. Blend mixture on high speed for 3-4 minutes. Add ice and blend for 2 minutes.
Slowly pour mixture into a large pitcher through a fine mesh sieve or a double layer of dampened cheese cloth, pressing hard on solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids. Chill the filled pitcher until cold, and preferably overnight. Pour into ice-filled glasses.
