    1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1/3 cup chopped green pepper
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/4 cup butter
    1/3 cup flour
    2 cups chicken broth
    1 cup Half & Half (light cream)
    2 cups chopped cooked chicken or turkey
    Dash of black pepper (or white)
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (or less to taste)
    3 tablespoons Dry Sherry wine
    1 (2 ounce) jar diced pimento, drained
    1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted

    8 patty shells, or hot biscuits cut in half, or toast points, or rice

    Saute mushrooms, green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add broth and Half & Half; cook over med. heat, stirring, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in chicken, seasonings, sherry, pimento and almonds. Cook until heated through. Serve over patty shells,or rice, or toast, or biscuits
