Gram's Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well.
Gradually add flour, soda and salt, then add vanilla flavoring. Knead dough,
roll out on floured surface, and cut with biscuit cutter or glass tumbler.
Bake in 325 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
