    Rhubarb Nut Bread #2

    for bread:
    1 1/2 cups brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 1/2 cups diced rhubarb
    2/3 cup liquid shortening or oil
    1 cup sour milk
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    2 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup chopped nuts

    for the topping:
    1/2 cup granulated white sugar
    1 Tablespoon melted butter

    Mix bread ingredients together and pour into
    greased and floured bread pan.
    Mix topping ingredients and spread over the top.
    Bake in preheated 325 degree F. oven for 60 minutes.
