    Recipe Introduction

    This is a recipe handed down to me. My children have loved this hand me down since they were very little visiting Grandma's house.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 c. peacans or walnuts, chopped
    • 1/4 c. butter, melted
    • 1/4 white sugar
    • 1/3 c. brown sugar
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon
    • 2 c. flour
    • 1 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1/2 c. shortening
    • 1 c. white sugar
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 2 medium eggs
    • 1 c. sour cream


    1. Mix together topping ingredients (first 5) and set aside.
    2. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt in mixing bowl.
    3. Cream together shortening and sugar until light and beat in vanilla and eggs.
    4. Add flour mixture and sour cream, folding in 1/2 at a time.
    5. Spoon in 1/2 of topping mixture over 1/2 of batter and repeat, finishing with batter.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean.
