Source of Recipe
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. evaporated milk
2 T. butter
1/2 t. salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 t. vanilla
2 c. pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped
Bring the sugar, milk, butter, and salt to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until the chips are melted, then add the vanilla and nuts. Pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch baking pan and chill until firm. Cut into squares.
NOTE: This recipe is best if butter is used as it adds to the creamy texture of the fudge.
