"Chili" Mac (tight budget)
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. elbow noodles, cooked to pkg. directions
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped [optional]
salt & pepper to taste
3 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
Brown beef, onion and green peppers if desired. Drain. Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, to blend flavors. Add cooked noodles stir to combine and heat through.
Serves probably 6 to 8 and can be served with a salad or rolls
I usually use the microwave to brown meat, onions and green pepper, drain then add tomato sauce etc. as above. It works well both ways. Always better the next day. I would use a 5 qt. dutch oven to cook on the stove.
