    Caramel Pie (like O'Charley's)

    1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
    1 graham cracker pie crust (plain or chocolate)
    1 tub Cool Whip
    Approx. 1/2 cup Chocolate chip morsels (I like the milk chocolate kind)
    Approx. 1/2 cup chopped pecans

    Place the can of Sweetened Condensed Milk in a pot with enough water to come about halfway up on the side of the can. Yes, you boil the milk INSIDE THE CAN! Boil for 3 hours. (You will need to keep adding water as the ater
    boils out). After the milk is done, let it cool a little and then open the can with a can opener. (I usually hold the can with a pot holder). PLEASE be careful because it could still be hot. Pour the caramelized milk into a bowl. Add approx. 2 Tablespoons of milk (optional) and beat with a mixer or wire whisk until pourable. (The addition of the milk is optional since this step is to make the caramelized milk pourable). Pour into pie crust. Place in refrigerator until completely cooled. Top with Cool Whip. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top. Slice & serve. YUMMY!
