    Black-Bottom Banana Bars

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla
    1-1/2 cups each mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium), all-purpose flour
    1 tsp each baking powder, baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup baking cocoa


    Heat oven to 350º F. (180º C)

    In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla; beat until
    thoroughly combined; blend in bananas.

    Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and
    mix well.

    Divide batter in half. Add cocoa to half; spread into a greased 13x9x2" baking

    Spoon remaining batter on top and swirl with a knife.

    Bake at 350° F. 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes
    out clean. Cool.

    Makes 1 pan.
