Million Dollar Poundcake

The perfect poundcake - what more can I say? Tastes like sugar cookies, and has the perfect texture - dense, moist and very rich!
List of Ingredients
2 cups butter (no substitutes), softened
3 cups sugar
4 cups flour
3/4 cup milk (buttermilk works really well here!)
2 tsp vanilla extract
In a mixing bowl, cream butter very well. Gradually add sugar; beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour to creamed mixture, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. MIX JUST UNTIL BLENDED AFTER EACH ADDITION. Do not overmix at this step. Stir in extract, just until blended. Pour into greased and floured tube or bundt ban and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool 15 minutes before removing from pan to cooling rack.
