    Pear Loaf (Bread Machine)

    1/2 cup milk
    1/3 cup apple juice or pear nectar
    3/4 cup chopped peeled pears
    4 teaspoons margarine or butter
    3 cups bread flour
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
    1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
    1/3 cup chopped almonds, toasted


    Recipe

    Add the ingredients to a 1-1/2- or 2-pound bread machine according to the
    manufacturer's directions, adding the pear with the liquid. Select the basic
    white bread cycle and desired color setting. Makes one 1-1/2-pound loaf (16
    slices).

    Note: Choose a firm, ripe pear. You may need to adjust the flour or juice if
    the pear is unripe or it is very ripe and juicy.
